BioPass

Features

Provides Windows and applications Logon using fingerprint recognition

BioPass allows an organization to secure their corporate network resources using BioMetric authentication technology. In a Windows Domain environment, users are able to login to their corporate domain server using fingerprint authentication. The added feature of SSO (Simple Sign On) allows users to use BioMetric Authentication to enter other web applications as well.

Provides logon authentication using centralized password management and fingerprint authentication (Multi-factor Authentication)

BioPass enables companies to deploy the application at their own pace by allowing a combination of password, password/fingerprint and fingerprint only. As users acquire fingerprint readers, they can be setup and begin using BioPass.

Provides local caching of fingerprint and biorhythm templates when the server is down

BioPass provides a local caching feature which allows you to enable local caching so that access is still granted in case of the server being unavailable. The cache option can be enabled or disabled. It is enabled by default.

Fail-safe operation with primary and secondary servers

BioPass can work in fail-safe mode using a primary and secondary server. Templates are written to both servers so that if the primary server fails, the secondary server can be enabled to take over the authentication tasks until the primary server can be brought up again.

Includes Simple Sign-On functionality for managing portfolios of passwords for web-based applications, and fingerprint based file and folder encryption and decryption

The Simple Sign-On feature of BioPass allows users to manage their passwords for web-based applications. The user no longer has to remember different passwords to many different applications. Once the URL is registered, the user will be prompted for their fingerprint. Once authenticated the credentials of the user will be passed along to the application and the user is logged in. As part of the SSO feature, users are able to secure files and folders with fingerprint-based file and folder encryption and decryption. This SSO functionality can be accessed locally or from the server.

Supports Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista and Windows 7

BioPass client supports Windows 2000, 2003, XP, Vista and Windows 7 clients.

Provides Remote, web-based administration

BioPass has an administration console that can be accessed through a web browser. This console can be used to add users, modify templates, remove users and modify server settings.

Does not require a Windows Server, Domain controller or Active Directory Services for deployment

If a Windows server is not used, BioPass can be used on a Windows machine for authentication.

Is fingerprint sensor agnosticRegister with one fingerprint sensor and authenticate with another

As users change readers or PC's, it is not required to update or modify their templates. The reader a user registers his fingerprint templates with is not the reader he must use for daily authentication. As long as the user is using a supported reader, they should be able use BioPass

Easy migration to fingerprint based authentication

As mentioned above, an organization can implement BioMetric authentication throughout a company at their own pace. They are not forced to deploy all users at once and can budget and plan accordingly based on the acquisition of readers.

Smartcard Authentication

BioPass allows individuals to logon to windows using smartcard authentication technology. Users can authenticate themselves using Smartcards in addition to their fingerprints.

Biorhythm Authentication

Every user has a unique typing rhythm. BioPass now makes use of this technique for authentication and allows users to login to windows using their typing rhythm in addition to fingerprint, smartcard authentications.

AD Support

BioPass can populate a database by extracting user information from the Active Directory and synchronizing back when new users register or existing ones update their details.
